We started in a single classroom in 2019 because the people caring for children deserved better tools than a paper sign-in sheet. That is still the whole job. If you want your work to give an educator their afternoon back, there is a seat here.

Daily Cubby is headquartered at 100 El Campo Dr in South San Francisco, California, and most of the team works remotely across the US. We are small enough that you will talk to customers in your first week and see your work reach centers within the month.

Everyone here — engineers included — sits in on center calls. Watching a director close her laptop at 4pm instead of 7pm is the clearest spec you will ever get.
Several of us ran classrooms before we wrote software. Their read on whether a workflow survives a room of eighteen toddlers settles most arguments.
We build software that centers depend on every morning, so we ship carefully rather than quickly. No heroics, no permanent crunch, no on-call theater.
You will own areas end to end, from the problem statement through the support tickets that follow. Nobody hands you a ticket queue and a closed door.
Decisions get written down so they hold up across time zones. South San Francisco has an office if you want one; nothing important happens only in the room.
We say the useful thing early instead of the polite thing forever. That applies to code review, design critique, and how we talk to customers.
The list is deliberately short and specific. Everything here applies from your first day, not after a probationary period.
Full premium coverage for you and 75% for dependents, effective your first day rather than the first of the following month.
Up to $600 a month toward childcare for children under five. We would be poor advocates for this industry if we did not help pay for it.
Dollar-for-dollar matching up to 4% of salary, vested immediately, with a low-fee index fund lineup.
Twenty days of paid vacation plus eleven holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. Managers are expected to take theirs first.
Sixteen fully paid weeks for every new parent regardless of how the child joined your family, with a phased return over the following month.
Conferences, courses, coaching, or books — yours to spend without a business case. Early childhood coursework counts.
A $2,500 starting budget for your desk, chair, and machine, refreshed every three years, plus internet reimbursement.
The whole company gathers twice a year for planning and time together. Travel, lodging, and family care costs are covered.
Two days a year to volunteer in a partner center or an early learning nonprofit of your choosing, on the clock.
Apply by emailing info@dailycubby.com with the role in the subject line — the links below fill that in for you. A short note about your work and why this industry interests you goes further than a cover letter.
Own features end to end across our TypeScript and React stack, from the attendance flows educators tap forty times a morning to the reporting directors hand to licensing inspectors.
Design for one-handed use in a loud room. You will run center visits, prototype fast, and hold the line on interfaces that stay legible to a tired teacher on a cracked tablet.
Take new centers from signed contract to a confident staff. You will map their existing routines, migrate rosters and billing, and train teams who did not ask for new software.
Be the person a director reaches at 6:45am when check-in will not load. You will resolve issues directly and turn the recurring ones into product changes.
Bring classroom and licensing expertise to our guides, templates, and developmental milestone content, and review new features before they reach real children's records.
Work with networks running five to fifty locations. Long, consultative cycles with operations leaders who will ask hard questions about data ownership and rollout.
Don't see your role? Tell us what you would work on and we will keep your note on file.
info@dailycubby.comFive stages, usually three to four weeks start to finish. We tell you where you stand at every step, including when the answer is no.
A real person on the hiring team reads your note and your work. You will hear back either way, with a decision rather than silence.
Thirty minutes with the hiring manager covering what the role actually involves day to day, and what you are looking for next.
A working session on a real problem from our product — reviewing code, critiquing a flow, or walking through a center rollout. No whiteboard algorithms, no take-home longer than 90 minutes, and we pay for it if we ask for one.
Two shorter calls with people you would work alongside, plus time with someone outside your function so you can ask about us without a filter.
We share the salary band up front, explain how we landed on the number, and check two references you nominate. Offers stay open for a week so you can decide without pressure.
Email info@dailycubby.com with the role name in the subject line — selecting a role above opens a draft with that filled in. Attach a resume or link to your work, and tell us in a few sentences what you would want to work on here.
Yes, if you can name the problem you would solve for us. Speculative notes that describe a specific contribution get read and kept on file; generic ones do not go far. We open new roles a few times a year and often reach back into that file first.
Yes. Most of the team works remotely across the US, and decisions get written down so nothing important depends on being in the South San Francisco office. Remote roles require overlap with 10am to 3pm Pacific and travel to South San Francisco twice a year for team weeks.
Not for most roles, though curiosity about the work is non-negotiable. Several people here came from other industries and learned the domain by spending time in centers. For the Early Childhood Education Advisor role, direct classroom and licensing experience is the requirement.
We share the band for the role in the first conversation and do not negotiate against other candidates' numbers. Pay is set by role and level rather than by location, and we review bands annually against market data.
Tell us what you need and we will arrange it — extra time, written questions in advance, a different format for the craft conversation, or scheduling around caregiving. Ask at any point; it has no bearing on the decision.
